Word Distance beta
The English word game saves accepted guesses, their semantic ranks, requested hints and action times with your player profile and UTC challenge date so you can resume. Word similarity is calculated from a fixed local dataset; guesses are not sent to an external AI service.
Solving the word automatically publishes your guess count and hint count on a separate daily leaderboard with your public profile. Assisted and unassisted games have separate rankings; this beta does not enter the monthly or all-time score boards. Other players cannot see your guessed words or hints. The built-in share text includes counts and a cold-to-warm path, without the words or answer.
Profiles and game progress
The game creates a guest profile with a generated nickname and avatar. This can happen when you visit the site, before you submit an answer.
Size It Up saves your profile and game progress. Saved information includes your profile name, avatar selection, country or region, profile creation and update times, challenge dates, locked guesses, and round results. For submitted scores, it also keeps the daily total, the name at submission, and the submission time.
Yes. Your profile, answers and submitted scores are saved on our servers. A cookie gives this browser access to your profile. Clearing cookies or switching browsers can remove access to an unlinked guest profile. A new account keeps all your current guest progress. If you sign in to an existing account while you have guest progress, we ask you to confirm before loading that account’s progress. Confirming gives up access to the current guest progress in this browser; canceling keeps it. The two sets of progress are never merged. When signing out, you can keep using the same linked profile in this browser or start a new guest profile. Keeping it preserves the nickname and progress and continues saving to that profile on our servers; it does not unlink the account. Starting a new profile leaves the account’s progress saved and lets you use another account.
Google sign-in
Google sign-in is optional. The game saves your Google account identifier to recognize your account and may use your Google display name when a profile does not already have a name.
A Google identity or verified email that is new to Size It Up links directly to your current guest profile, keeping its nickname, avatar, progress and submitted scores. For an existing account, we ask you to confirm after verification if your guest profile has progress. Confirming loads the existing account and gives up access to the current guest progress in this browser; canceling keeps the guest profile. The account and guest progress are never merged.
The game does not request, read, or save your Google email address. It does not save your Google profile photo.
Email sign-in
When email sign-in is available, you can enter an email address to receive a one-time sign-in link. The first verified sign-in creates an account. Size It Up saves the verified address to recognize your account on later visits. No password is required.
If you already use Google, sign in with Google and add an email on your account page to keep the same profile and scores. Adding an email requires verifying it while you remain signed in. Accounts are not automatically combined because email addresses look alike.
Your email is used for account verification and sign-in. It is not your public display name and is not shown on leaderboards or in shared results. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes, can be used once, and must be opened in the browser that requested them.
To limit unwanted email, the game uses the requested address and connection information to limit repeated sign-in requests.
Cookies and sign-in sessions
Sign-in language: remembers the language of a Google sign-in attempt for up to one hour.
The game uses cookies to remember your profile and protect sign-in. These cookies do not contain your saved guesses or score history.
Signing out ends your authenticated session. You can keep a separate browser credential to continue playing with the same linked profile and saving progress to it, or start a new guest profile. Keeping the profile does not let you manage sign-in methods without signing back in to the same account. To use another account, choose to start a new profile. Neither option deletes the linked account or its saved progress. Cookie lifetimes do not determine how long saved profiles or results remain.
- Guest profile: remembers your guest profile for up to one year.
- Signed-in session: keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.
- Google sign-in security: helps protect a sign-in attempt and expires after 10 minutes.
- Email sign-in security: ties a requested email link to this browser and expires after 15 minutes.
- Account confirmation: links your verified sign-in to this browser while you choose whether to replace guest progress; expires after 15 minutes.
- Browser profile access: a separate credential keeps access to a linked profile when you choose to continue with it. It lasts up to one year and is renewed during active use. It does not authorize changes to sign-in methods.
- Usage measurement: Google Analytics may store its own cookies for up to two years. They are separate from the profile and sign-in cookies above and do not contain your guesses or scores.
What becomes public
Completing a daily challenge automatically adds your score to the daily, monthly and all-time leaderboards, whether you are signed in or using this browser’s profile. Entries can show your current nickname, generated avatar, country or region, rank, score and submitted days. Submitted daily scores also contribute to score-distribution statistics.
Account linking is optional and is not required to publish a completed daily challenge. Unfinished challenges and archive practice do not appear as leaderboard entries. Previously completed daily challenges are also included, even when the player had not linked an account.
The built-in share message contains the challenge date, scores, and a link to the game. It does not include your profile, the answers, or your live rank.
Country or region and external services
Your connection can supply an initial country or region for your profile’s leaderboard flag, including when you play without signing in. You can change it in your profile. This is not a precise location, and later visits do not overwrite your saved choice.
DiceBear supplies generated avatars. Your browser requests the image directly from DiceBear using a random avatar identifier, so DiceBear receives that request and its network information, including the requesting IP address. The request does not include your name, Google account identifier, or the page address.
Google handles the optional sign-in flow. Visiting Google to sign in involves a separate connection to Google. These services handle the requests they receive under their own practices.
Resend delivers requested sign-in and verification emails. It receives the recipient email address and the email content, including the one-time link, to process delivery. Size It Up does not use these requests to send marketing emails.
The how-to-play page includes an embedded YouTube video. When the player loads, your browser connects to YouTube and sends network information, including your IP address. Playback is handled by YouTube under its own privacy practices.
When you open a page, the site loads Google Analytics to measure how the site is used. Your browser sends Google the page address without the part after #, the referring page, browser and device information, and network information including your IP address. Google may store its own cookies in this browser for up to two years to recognize it on later visits. The request does not include your nickname, email address, Google account identifier, guesses, or scores. Google handles this data under its own practices. This version does not offer a separate control to turn that measurement off.
We also use basic visit statistics to understand how pages are used and improve the site. These cover page visits, referring pages, device information and approximate region. This measurement adds no analytics cookies and does not include your nickname, email address, game inputs or scores.
Suggestions, bug reports and acknowledgements
To post a suggestion or bug report, you must sign in with Google or a verified email address. Suggestions can be about new features, improvements or other ideas for the game. You can browse and vote without signing in. We store each post’s type, title, text, timestamps and link to your player profile, along with its status and the team’s replies. We also store follow-up messages from the team and the author, with their timestamps. Votes on suggestions and “Me too” responses to bugs are saved for each player profile and post, so changing your vote doesn’t count it twice. Each account can have one unresolved post at a time, whether it’s a suggestion or a bug report. Posts marked Open, Planned or In progress count towards this limit. You can post again once your current post is marked Completed or Not planned.
Posts, the author’s current nickname and generated avatar, status updates, team replies and vote totals are public. Other players cannot see how you voted. Our Special Thanks page lists players whose suggestions we’ve accepted or whose reports have helped us fix a bug, with their current nickname, generated avatar, the flag for the country or region set in their profile (if available), and totals for accepted suggestions and fixed bugs. Your account email address is never shown on either page. Follow-up messages are also public. Only the person who created a post can reply, while signed in to the same account, and only once after each new team response. Other players can read the conversation but cannot reply. The same reply rules apply to posts marked Completed or Not planned.
Please leave personal or sensitive information out of public posts. Feedback and votes are stored on our servers; clearing cookies or signing out does not delete them. If you choose to restore an existing account, you’ll be asked to confirm that you’re giving up access to the current guest profile’s feedback and votes in this browser. The two profiles’ records are not merged. For private questions or requests about your data, email service@sizeitup.xyz.
Challenge reactions
After completing a daily challenge, you can optionally choose a reaction without signing in. Size It Up saves one choice and the number of changes per player profile, UTC challenge date and game mode. After your initial choice, you can change it up to 2 times before that UTC day ends. Reloading the page does not reset this limit; reactions for earlier dates are read-only.
Players who have completed the same challenge can see the total number of reactions and the count for each reaction. Your individual choice is not shown to other players.
Your current options
You can edit your nickname, generated avatar, and country or region from your profile without signing in. Linking a Google or verified email account is optional and provides a way back to your progress after clearing browser data or changing devices. Signed-in players can add a verified email when available and sign out. This version does not provide a self-service way to change or remove a verified email address.
This version has no self-service option to delete an account or its saved game data. Clearing cookies or signing out does not delete player records, answers, or submitted scores. Clearing a guest cookie can also make that guest’s saved progress inaccessible from your browser.
For questions about your data, contact service@sizeitup.xyz. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, or session cookies.
