Everyone gets the same English word each UTC day. Guess a word and see its rank in our vocabulary: #1 is the answer, and smaller numbers mean a closer semantic connection.
Beta uses a limited English vocabulary. An unfamiliar word or a repeat never costs a guess. Your guesses and hints are saved so you can come back later.
Does closer mean similar spelling?
No. The rank measures associations in meaning, not shared letters. Related objects, actions, places or ideas may be close. It is a game’s semantic ranking, not a dictionary definition.
How do hints affect my result?
A hint reveals a closer word without adding a guess. Hints are counted separately, and any use places your result on the assisted leaderboard. Both leaderboards rank solved games by fewest guesses; ties share a rank.
What happens if I reveal the answer?
Revealing ends today’s game without a leaderboard result. You can then explore the answer’s closest words. Refreshing will not restart the game.
Can I guess in another language?
This beta accepts English words only. Changing the interface language keeps the same word, progress and leaderboard. There is no timer, and a new word starts every day at 00:00 UTC.
